Adding Color

Can you believe it?
I truly found the perfect finish for White Oak! It’s not too warm or too cool, it’s just perfect. This combination of a pre coat with a wax finish was designed for wood floors. It’s wipeable, doesn’t show any fingerprints, and is behind durable. We have had this finish in our laundry room for the past 5 years and this year used it on our fridge panels, beams, and railing.
Here is the process:
1. Pre Color Easy in Mint White: I apply this very quickly with a foam roller working it into all of the wood grain. As soon as it’s evenly applied, wipe it immediately with a lint free rag removing as much as possible. Make sure it’s even while removing the pre color because you cannot touch it up. Let dry overnight before applying wax.
2. Wax in White 5%: Mix the wax and accelerator together and pour on your project. Spread it with a flat edge working into the wood grain. Next, use a sponge attachment on your power sander to work the wax into the wood. Remove the wax with a rag taking off as much as possible. Wait 24 hrs and soft buff with a clean, dry rag.
